Winnie The Pooh News...

Return to the Hundred Acre Wood book set for October release

Christopher Robin and his bear of very little brain are set to make a comeback after the estate of AA Milne agreed to authorise the first-ever official sequel to the much-loved children's books and now the book industry, is eagerly awaiting the follow up to A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, due for release on Oct. 5 2009 and will be known as Return to the Hundred Acre Wood.

Although Disney has featured the characters in different movies and cartoons, there has not previously been an authorised sequel to Milne's books, first published in 1926 and 1928. Milne wrote the books for his son Christopher Robin, naming Pooh after his teddy bear.

The author of this exciting new release will be David Benedictus, who is famed for two Winnie The Pooh audiobooks based on A.A. Milne's famous little bear and his friends. The work will be illustrated by artist Mark Burgess and is expected to have an initial print run well be in excess of 100,000,

The new book, will be published in Britain by Egmont Publishing in Britain and in the US by Penguin imprint Dutton Children's Books.

Tigger will be bouncing higher than ever and even Eeyore may crack a smile, however, knowing Winnie, he'll probably still be looking for Hunny!
